Get to Know Me
I am an ENFJ personality on the Meyer Briggs personality test. This really speaks a lot about who I am as a person. I am very passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves. People often come to me for advise, and I have found myself being like another mom to many. It's always awkward to talk about yourself, so I asked my friends to describe me. They felt the best words were nurturing, caring, driven, organized, natural leader, adventurous, and compassionate. I am a teacher at one of the top preforming schools in my town. I currently work with students who are below grade-level by teaching alternative methods to catch them up. I love my job because I can be creative using stories, songs, tricks, and pictures to help my students learn. Watching the light go off for a math concept or teaching a child to read for the first time is the most fulfilling way to spend my career.

I am a Christian, attend church regularly, and am devoted to my faith. I believe that includes living a life of integrity and showing kindness to others. I also believe being a Christian doesn't mean you must cut yourself off from the world or keep your child from participating in childhood memories and holiday traditions. I was a young adults pastor for several years and developed many good friendships from that time. I have since shifted gears and have focused more toward missions. This is where my heart is and provides more time to focus on a little one. I believe in loving God and loving others with kindness and compassion. I hope to teach my child to make decisions that he or she will feel proud of and to always do their best to become the person they want to be.
I love traveling and sightseeing and do this several times a year. I often hike to waterfalls, visit natural parks, kayak, swim, explore caves, and learn about other cultures. With this, I enjoy nature and wildlife photography. I have a passion for the areas that lie between Mexico and South America. I enjoy the tropical plants, waters, music, and Hispanic culture. I speak Spanish at an intermediate level and would like to become fluent one day. I like to collect small, musical instruments from around the world. I also love theme parks, art, drawing, spending time with friends and family, and having movie night or game night.
My extended family often gathers for get-togethers. We have a big family dinner for every Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Fall Fishfry, and sometimes Fourth of July. Some of my annual family traditions are getting together to do elaborate Christmas cookie decorating, giving out Christmas cards, tree decorating/caroling, having a family Easter Egg Hunt, Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, Firework Displays, a summer vacation trip, and birthday celebrations.
I am also excited to add in new traditions with a child in the home. I could see myself taking my child to National Parks, on scenic hikes, camping, and kayaking. I also envision sitting down at the table to play board games, make crafts, decorate Christmas cookie,s and eating meals together. And as silly as it sounds, I'm excited for all the mundane things as well like folding all their little clothes and rocking them to sleep... and when they're older, helping with homework and explaining why they don't need to kiss their crush at 9 years old. (lol)
